Shuttleworth, Inc. Supports Operation Merry Christmas

Huntington, Indiana
Shuttleworth, Inc., a leading international conveyor and product handling equipment manufacturer, recently received a thank you letter from Captain Candice O'Brien, Commanding officer of Charlie Company, 125 Military Intelligence Battalion in Afghanistan, for their gracious participation in Operation Merry Christmas. Charlie Company received overwhelming amounts of donated gifts, food items and supplies. "What we cherished more than anything else were the multiple letters of thanks. It truly means more than you'll ever know when a Solider receives mail thanking them for their service", says Captain O'Brien.

Shuttleworth, Inc. knows all to well, what it means to support military troops. Philip Zahm, Project Manager for Shuttleworth, Inc. served as First Sergeant with Company D, 1st Battalion, 293rd Infantry Regiment, Indiana Army National Guard during Operation Enduring Freedom / Operation Iraqi Freedom. On March 14, 2004 at a ceremony in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he received the Bronze Star Medal from the United States Army for his exemplary military service in developing a convoy escort plan at the seaport of debarkation during the build-up for the war with Iraq. Zahm has since retired with an honorary discharge after 21 years of service

"Employer support of today's National Guard and Reserve members is a sign of the faith and trust that companies have in the men and women who serve," says Zahm. Later that month, the National Committee For Employer Support Of The Guard And Reserve (ESGR) recognized James and Carol Shuttleworth as a PATRIOTIC EMPLOYER for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America's National Guard and Reserve Force. "I nominated Shuttleworth, Inc. for this award because of their continuous support of me and my service during Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was obvious that the importance of my service to our country was something that made them proud," Zahm concluded.
